This book "Girl With The Pearl Earring" is a book about a girl named Griet. She is a poor girl that lives with her
mum, dad, sister named Agnes and brother named Frans. Her sister dies and Griets brother moves away.
Her dad was a tile painter but one day he was putting the tiles in the kiln and the kiln blew up. He was
the lucky one and only got blind but the two other men he was working with died.
So after that day Griets family had no income since Agnes died, Frans moved away and Griets dad became
blind. So unfortunatly Griet was forced to work as a made for a very wealthy family.
In the family there was a Man he was the dad of five children. He was a painter and he also lived with his wife
Catharina and her mum Mary Thins and Griet was not the only maid there was another lady called Taneka and
was very jelous of Griet since the painter favoured Griet more, but Taneka worked as a maid for a few years for the rich family.
When she was working normally like a maid the Painter that she had to call 'Master"introdousted her to his rich friend that
always bought his paintings. One day the painters friend told him to paint Griet with a pearl earring, when the painter told
Griet that he wanted to paint her with the pearl earring she said she hasn't got holes in her ear and she hasn't got pearl
earrings, but the painter said to get the holes in your ear's and me and grandmother will orgainise the pearl earrings.
So griet had to go through all the pain to stick a needle through one of her ear's, but when
she showed the master he said to peirce both of her ear's so yet again Griet went and peirced the other ear. The next day
Griet went to the master and said she was ready for him to paint her, so every day whe the wife that Griet had to call madiam
went out master told Griet to go to her jewelery box and to wear her pearl earring's. But on of the five children hated Griet
and told madam who also hated griet that she stole her pearl earrings. Griet got told off and shouted at by the madam but before
she got told on master told Griet to always after they finished to go and put the pearl earring back so the smart griet only said to the
madam when she was told on "go and look in your jewelery box." but the selfish madam did'nt bother.
Every day Griet would have to go to the market so one day she went to the butchers and fell in love with his son and
so did he, so in the end the Master died and his rich friend died aswell so the family got no income, then Griets dad died and
her brother disapered and was only left with her mum so Griet stopped working for that family and married the butchers son
she became rich and the family that she used to work with became poor when the master died he gave a will to Griet
and the will was the pearl earrings. In the end Griet had two children and lived with her mum and husband and sold the
pearl earrings since they gave her bad memories. She lived happily ever after.
